From best friends to life partners, we get closer and closer...
Safe traveling through the pandemic limited where we went, but believe it or not, we have traveled to lots of places near and as we got into mid-2021, far.
This page chronicles all our adventures leading up to the wedding day, and for our continued adventures join us at @themurnans

Syracuse, NY
This is our very first photo together and it was at Cunningham Falls State Park, near Cazenovia. Neither of us knew during this trip that our relationship would blossom from good friends to husbands, but here is the start of a lifelong friendship! From the Falls to Angry Garlic and Beer Belly, David and Yinja explored and fell in love with the Syracuse area.

Cincinnati Night, NYC, NY
David took Yinja to Cincinnati night in New York and tried Skyline Chili. David was so surprised that Yinja actually liked it! It’s not even the same as it is in Cincy, but hey it comes close!
September 17, 2020
Boston, MA
David and Yinja went to Boston and it was their first trip as a true couple. David brought Yinja to a hotpot restaurant and Yinja took David to dim sum. David and Yinja got to go to an Apple Store so Yinja could get a new Apple Watch because Yinja broke his old watch, then celebrated the new purchase at World of Beer. They also took a day trip to Salem, and attended Sean’s bonfire party. This was Yinja's first bonfire experience! Oh and yeah, we saw Gillette Field.

Remote Christmas and NYE in NYC
COVID kept David from going home for Christmas for the first time in his life, and that was very sad for him and his family as many of them stayed in their respective homes. As we were sad and missed each other, we all had a Murnan family Zoom call! It was Yinja's first time meeting David’s family, and of course they rocked ugly Christmas Sweaters for the occasion! Is there any other way to celebrate Christmas?
April 18, 2021
Beacon, NY
COVID kept David and Yinja from going places for several months before they finally got a chance to escape from NYC and celebrate David’s early birthday (April 19th). They visited the Diá museum, hiked and drank beers from Two Way Brewing Company (it was meh). Also, they went to a bar / arcade and had surprisingly good beers in a kids arcade. (Seriously though, Happy Valley Arcade is legit). Lastly, Yinja had his very first experience with a Pork and Bacon burger from Meyer’s Olde Dutch which he loved.
May 9, 2021
Huntington, NY
David showed Yinja around Huntington for a giant delicious brunch from Hatch. They got a treat from the bartender –– a Fancy French Toast! They also visited the Heckscher Museum and Heckscher Park, so many ducks (and evil geese) there! Lastly, we took an Uber to Northport to go to Sand City Brewing Company, which is one of the best breweries in Long Island (seriously, go there).
May 26, 2021
Cincinnati, Ohio
When one is used to going home three times a year, it feels so damn good when one finally gets to come home after one and a half years. Oh, and David got to bring Yinja and he met the family for the first time in person! They went to an FCC game, got to march in the parade, and stood in the Bailey (where we sing as one for you!) They also got to go to breweries with David’s dad, the Cincinnati Zoo with his brother Jake and took a hike in Yellow Springs with his friend Eddie. Oh, and they even went to Dayton!
June 10, 2021
North and South Forks of Long Island, NY
What a great way to celebrate Yinja’s first birthday together with a trip to Long Island! On the South Fork, they went to Montauk Point State Park, and then meandered to the North Fork where they went to two wineries, Orient Point Park, and Greenport. The wineries were Yinja’s first wine tasting experience.
June 26, 2021
Hudson, NY
Another weekend David and Yinja decided to go on a day trip in Hudson, NY. They visited the Museum of Firefighting and went to Hudson Brewing Company. The brewery even had an awesome food truck! Hudson's such a fancy cute little town, definitely worth the day trip!
July 24, 2021
Portland, Maine
David’s friend Jeremy and his wife Xenia kindly invited David and Yinja to attend their wedding. It was Yinja’s first time in Maine and also his first American wedding! Yinja can’t believe that the second American wedding he will attend is his own wedding.
August 1, 2021
Citi Field, Queens
It’s Reds time, and it was also Yinja’s first time at a baseball game! Yinja joined with David and Aux One friends to root, root, root for the Redlegs! Most importantly, the Reds won this game! Go Reds!
September 18, 2021
Philadelphia, PA
Weekend trips became more and more frequent to David and Yinja, and on this weekend trip they went to Philly! They visited the Philadelphia Museum of Art and also Fort Mifflin. It was David and Yinja’s first time watching a live cannon demonstration. David’s friend Adam even joined us! It was a blast!
October 3, 2021
Beacon, NY
David and Yinja came back to Beacon again and visited Hudson Valley Brewery and Industrial Arts Brewing Company. They visited Fishkill Creek and hiked over 5 miles in Hudson Highlands State Park. What a workout!

Corning, the Thousand Islands, and around Syracuse, NY
David and Yinja love Syracuse so much so they decided to come back. However, unfortunately, the weather wasn’t good in Syracuse so they drove all the way south to Corning to enjoy glass work. That was the surprise David made for Yinja. They also drove all the way north to the Canadian border to visit the Thousand Islands. We ended up only hanging out in Syracuse for a day, oh and had lots of ice cream. Have you ever had an Apple Cider Shake? It’s truly awesome. (Right Rita?!)
October 24, 2021
Tarrytown & Nyack, NY
Around Halloween, David and Yinja visited Tarrytown. It was a precious place but not as fun as they thought. However, going across the Tappan Zee bridge to Nyack was such a surprise. It simply felt more real and down to earth.
November 6, 2021
Princeton, NJ
David and Yinja took their friend (also the officiant) Melissa’s advice to visit Princeton, a small but cute town. Princeton University was gorgeous to visit and the hike in Princeton Battlefield Monument was fantastic. They also got $5 beers from Triumph Brewing Company. What a steal!
November 25, 2021
Washington, DC
David lived in the DMV for over nine years before moving to the Big Apple. He was upset about not being able to go back to DC due to COVID until Thanksgiving, 2021. (Almost two years!) He took Yinja to various places and met some of his best friends in DC. We even saw Yinja’s friend Yao!
December 8, 2021
Manhattan Beach & Los Angeles, CA
Neither David nor Yinja had ever been to the west coast until December 2021 when thanks to Yinja’s previous company NAX they finally did. David followed Yinja to LA and had a great time with Yinja’s work family! The plants were so cute and the holiday party was legit! Oh and David learned that no one walks in LA and thought he was crazy for walking eight miles. Also, dollar al pastor tacos.
December 18, 2021
Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, NY
Who says someone needs to go far for an awesome experience! In Dyker Heights, Brooklyn is a yearly spectacle of amazing Christmas displays, and in 2021 there were so many awesome looking homes and displays! If you are in NYC during the Holidays, this is something to see, at least once.
December 25, 2021
Cincinnati, Ohio
Back for Christmas! David and Yinja even joined a gym for a week on this trip! Not only did they go to Cincy for Christmas, they also went to Clifty Falls State Park and Louisville! Such fun times!
March 4, 2022
Baltimore, MD
Why go to Philly, Boston, or DC when you can go to Baltimore? Seriously, Baltimore is great. Trust us, we walked 14 miles in one day exploring, do we get an award?
April 2, 2022
Tampa, FL
Yinja went on a business trip and was told to spend the weekend in Tampa, so he decided to invite his Bear. Despite the stressful work time, David had a chance to go for a few runs and explore Tampa. They also visited Dali Museum and Imagine Museum in Saint Petersburg where they found out their flight home from Tampa was canceled due to bad weather. They still made the best of it and arrived home SAFE the next day. Ask David and Yinja about the crazy Tampa adventure when you see them!
April 19, 2022
San Fransisco & Oakland, CA
It's David's birthday again! Time flies. Yinja and David decided to go on a trip to celebrate his birthday and David's brother Kevin's half birthday. Most importantly, they saw their niece Safiya for the first time! She's cute as a button, ain't she? Also they saw so much of Oakland and San Francisco. Have you ever been to Lands End? We have.
April 24, 2022
Beacon, NY
After visiting the Bay Area, David and Yinja needed another weekend to decompress and enjoy life. So, they went to Beacon! After getting coffee from Bank Street and beer and pizza at Hudson Valley Brewery, they hiked over 10.5 miles in the mountains! They saw some great views, and did it all without hiking boots! We even learned after the fact that it was the "harder" trail! Fun times!
May 1, 2022
Beacon (yet again), NY
This time, David and Yinja had hiking boots! We got an awesome glazed donut from Glazed Over, still had coffee, pizza and beer, and hiked 10.5 miles (only this time a different route!). David reaffirmed his fear of heights as he climbed a fire tower (we made it up only two flights), but they saw some awesome views! After the hike they celebrated with a beer then went to Meyer's Olde Dutch for their great food!
May 30, 2022
Cincinnati, Ohio
Back in Cincinnati! More Skyline! More LaRosa’s! Friends and Family! Oh and we went to Mammoth Cave. Yeah, is that in Cincinnati? Nah?! It’s cool we did it anyways then had dinner in Louisville! Like seriously, if you haven’t been to Mammoth Cave it’s sort of awesome!
June 10, 2022
Vermont
There’s nothing quite as infuriating than being a Five Star member at Hertz and being told I have to wait for a car on Yinja’s birthday. But then when the manager points at a car which causes you to ask if she’s serious and she responds back with “Have Fun!” you are going to have a great weekend with a top down! Oh yeah, it was awesome, and only required one call to 911 at the top of Mount Hunger. Vermont is truly a lovely place.
June 26, 2022
Happy Two Years!
Two years of knowing each other and so many trips! How did we spend two years? With long walk along the boardwalk, German Food, and a trip to the brewery! Here's to two years, and here's to many more!
July 4, 2022
Syracuse, NY?
Did we really stay in Syracuse? I mean, sure we went to Angry Garlic, XO Taco, and Harrison Bakery, but then there was Prison City and Waterfalls! Three at Letchworth, one in Rochester, a very tall one at Taughhannock, a ton of small ones at Fillmore Glen, a picturesque one at Buttermilk Falls, and an extremely impressive falls at Robert H Treman! And we went to Ithaca Bakery twice. Such a fun weekend!
We laugh together, we cry together, we live our best lives together. These trips are just a beginning and there will be so many more places to see and experience.
Thank you, guests, and thank you, bear friends, best friends, and family!
