Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring my kids?

To give all our guests the opportunity to celebrate without having to worry about little eyes and ears, we politely request no children as this is a celebration with an open bar which may make the event colorful. However, we also understand for some parents this may be impossible, so we understand if a little one must tag along, just let us know by email at invite@murnanwen.com.

What is the vaccination rule?

To consider all our guests’ health, our current covid policy requires all guests, whether seated inside or outside, to be prepared to show proof of at least 2 COVID-19 vaccination shots.

We are not responsible should the venue deny your entry for being unvaccinated.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Please turn off your cameras and devices until after the ceremony. We want to see your lovely faces and happy smiles!
We’ve asked a professional photographer to capture the special moments so that you can sit back, relax and enjoy them with us. Our beautiful images will be available after the wedding.

Is there a gift registry?

Your presence will be the greatest gift we could ask and having you with us will make it a blast. If you are still thinking of giving a gift to help us on our way, a gift of cash towards our honeymoon would really make our day!

Can I mail you a wedding gift?

We greatly appreciate the thought of you sending us something! However, our building has a history of theft and we are afraid that if you send us something it might get stolen! Even worse, things have gotten lost in the mail or by shipping (looking at you, Lasership). As such, we politely request that you do not send anything to our address.

What should I do if I cannot make it?

Please let us know as soon as possible by completing the RSVP online form or email invite@murnanwen.com.

If you have already completed the form confirming attendance previously, you can simply complete the online form again. We will get a notification and will update accordingly.

Is there a dress code?

Summer classy, but recognizing that it will be August in NYC, low-end Hamptons Chic is also fair game. Be advised that our space is indoor/outdoor, and even though it's an evening affair the weather will likely be hot, so we will totally understand if you choose to wear shorts or a shorter dress. We have made a mood board that may hopefully give you some inspirations.

Do I need my jacket or suit for Summer Classy

Hell, we’re wearing vests because our venue is indoor / outdoor and it will be summer. Do you really want to wear a jacket in NYC in August? We don’t, and we recommend you dress lightly.

I am very concerned about COVID, where will I sit?

Trust us, we are too (this is why we are not recommending that people cross the Brooklyn Bridge unless you want COVID Variant Omicron BA.5, we learned this firsthand). With this in mind, we asked Pig Beach to keep all windows and doors to the indoor space to maintain airflow. Additionally, we asked everyone if they were vaccinated and all that responded said they were. Although we have assigned everyone a seat inside, we also have many unassigned outdoor seats that you could also sit at, and if there are any additional items that you would like us to consider please let us know by contacting invite@murnanwen.com. We'll try our best to help!

So... How bad is COVID in NYC?

To be honest, NYC feels like Cincinnati right now. I think most of the country, including NYC, has pretty much decided COVID is over and if you get it you get it. You probably do not want to visit very busy areas such as the Brooklyn Bridge, where Yinjia and I caught COVID on Saturday, July 9. Be safe! Omicron BA.5 is transmissible outdoors and Yinjia and I learned this firsthand.
